A few tips for after your child is born:

.) Be in contact with the hospital's social worker, and ask about any insurance/programs your child would qualify for.

.) Get information on Early Intervention for your child. The earlier the better. This has been CRUCIAL for Thomas's development.

.) Even if your child is in the NICU, try to interact as much as you can with him/her. Read to him; sing to him; let him look at toys (if allowed). See if physical therapy can come to work with your child. Hold your baby skin to skin (if allowed). *Please get doctor/nurse consent before doing any activity with your child*

.) You are your child's voice. If something doesn't feel right, then say something. If you have questions, ask. No one is going to fight for your child but YOU!
